The United States Environmental Protection Agency has addded four Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc. (Meppi) UPS models to its Energy Star product list.
The Energy Star-qualified products are Meppi’s 1100A and 1100B Series modular UPS units, and the 9900A and 9900B Series UPS modules.
Energy Star is a government-backed programmme helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. The qualification process requires that products be tested in EPA-recognized laboratories, with the results reviewed by an independent, accredited certification organization.
In addition to up-front testing, a percentage of all Energy Star products are subject to “off-the-shelf” verification testing each year.
