Mining company Australian Vanadium has signed a deal to strengthen its strategy of vertically integrating redox flow batteries into the Australian market.
AVL’s Dealership Agreement allows it to market and sell German company GILDEMEISTER CellCube products in Australia for an initial five-year period.
VSUN, a 100% owned AVL subsidiary, will sell the CellCube range while proceeding with technical work on its flagship Gabanintha Vanadium Project in Western Australia.
“The dealership agreement allows VSUN to ramp-up its activity in commercial target markets and utility related storage opportunities,” said AVL chief executive Vincent Algar.
“GILDEMEISTER considers the Australian market one of enormous potential and suitability for storage systems like the CellCube. AVL and VSUN will now help to realise that potential.”
Back in February AVL signed Memorandum of Understanding with GILDMEISTER and solar company Sun Connect PTY.
The MoU with GILDEMEISTER was to collaborate on future Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) installations and electrolyte production in Australia.
The MoU with Sun Connect was to collaborate on future VRB installations throughout Australia.
Both form a key part of AVL’s vertical integration strategy, which involves the production of high-purity vanadium electrolyte – a core component of flow batteries.
