VinFast Auto India, a subsidiary of EV manufacturer VinFast, has signed a strategic agreement with BatX Energies to develop a high-voltage (HV) battery recycling and repurposing ecosystem, advancing India’s sustainable EV ambitions.
The partnership will enable recovery and reintegration of critical materials including lithium, cobalt and nickel, supporting a circular battery economy while reducing mining dependency and environmental impact. BatX will service VinFast’s factory and after-sales operations, offering material traceability and second-life applications such as urban mining.
Speaking on the collaboration, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, said, “This partnership with BatX Energies is a meaningful step toward building a sustainable, circular battery ecosystem in India.”
Aligned with India’s fast-growing EV market, the agreement also opens future collaboration with Vietnam, reflecting regional leadership in circular economy innovation. VinFast is preparing to launch its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs, with expanded after-sales and charging support through partnerships with Global Assure, myTVS, and RoadGrid.
Production scale-up at VinFast’s Thoothukudi facility is underway, alongside growing investment in dealership networks and infrastructure. The BatX collaboration reinforces VinFast’s mission to deliver a reliable, future-ready ownership experience in India.
