Aura Clean Energy, a BESS provider in Oceania, has chosen Volvo Penta as its supplier of advanced battery technology for large-scale energy storage.
The partnership brings together Volvo Penta’s Scandinavian engineering heritage and Aura’s focus on resilience, performance and reliability across defence, mining and critical infrastructure.
Volvo Penta’s battery systems deliver high energy density and a transparent value chain, aligning with Aura’s mission to provide secure, transportable energy solutions. Aura’s BESS units, capable of grid-scale capacity in the hundreds of megawatt-hours, are designed to support defence grid resilience, deployable power for forward bases, and mobile systems for humanitarian or emergency response. Managed via secure networks, these systems ensure assured service continuity for mission-ready operations.
The collaboration was formalised with the signing of the first official Purchase Order, involving Volvo Penta president Anna Müller, Volvo Penta Oceania business development manager Nicolas Hansford, and Aura Clean Energy CEO Cameron Baker.
“We are thrilled to partner with Aura Clean Energy, a company that shares our vision for a sustainable future,” said Müller. “This partnership will enable us to leverage our combined expertise to unlock the vast potential of the BESS market in Oceania, providing tailored solutions for the mining, civil, data centre and defence industries.”
Baker added, “This collaboration with Volvo Penta represents a significant step forward in our mission to deliver cutting-edge energy storage solutions. Together, we will drive innovation and sustainability in the energy sector, paving the way for a cleaner and more efficient future.”
