UK genset OEM Yorpower won an order from West Lancashire Borough Council to supply a fully integrated diesel unit for their offices in Ormskirk.
The project, which will be completed in December this year by the YorPower installation team, will involve the decommissioning of the existing backup generator and associated systems before the installation of the new unit: a 60kVA Perkins powered diesel generator, which will be linked to a 30 kVA UPS system.
The generator installation will require a mobile crane to position the unit, electrical engineers to program and commission the works and a load bank to carry out a functional on site load test.
Ian Thompson, YorPower’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to be chosen by West Lancashire Council to replace their existing backup generator. We hope to provide more Councils based across the UK with comprehensive removal and installation services in the future.”
