Californian Energy Management firm ZBB Energy has undergone a rebranding and changed its name to EnSync Inc to signify its business evolution.
The name change reflects its current business development that synchronises energy storage equipment with microgrids and electric utility providers.
Founded in 1986, the Menomonee Falls-based company will no longer focus entirely on zinc bromide battery development and production.
ZBB’s former COO Brad Hansen is now the President and CEO of the company.
Over the last year the company has introduced differentiated technologies and business models, such as its advanced Matrix Energy Management(TM) system.
Recently it also signed its first power purchase agreements in Hawaii using distributed solar generation and energy storage behind the meter.
