Cummins Power Generation has been awarded its first emergency standby power contracts by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the body tasked with overall control and administration of the federal government’s monetary and financial sector policies.
Cummins Power Generation is supplying standby solutions at CBN branches in two state capitals: Gusau in northwestern Nigeria and Calabar on the southeastern coast.
A total of eight gensets are being installed, comprising four C900 D5 models, and two each of the C550 D5 and C275 D5. Cummins Holland supplied the generator sets, which were sold to a Dutch export house and then to Gentech for installation.
The branch office standby solutions in Gusau and Calabar are the first projects undertaken by Cummins Power Generation for the bank, and there is potential for repeat sales at other branches around the country, it said in a statement.
