24M Technologies has announced a breakthrough in battery innovation with the launch of Eternalyte, a next-generation electrolyte that enables ultra-fast charging and exceptional cold-weather performance.
With up to three times the ionic conductivity of standard electrolytes, Eternalyte dramatically enhances charge rates – delivering over 300km of range in under four minutes (SOC 15% to 80%) without requiring megawatt-scale charging infrastructure. It maintains performance across chemistries without sacrificing energy density.
In cold climates, where traditional batteries lose up to 25% capacity at 0°C and nearly all below freezing, Eternalyte retains virtually full capacity at 0°C and over 80% even at -40°C – offering a major advantage for EV users in harsh conditions.
Naoki Ota, president and CEO at 24M Technologies said, “24M’s Eternalyte electrolyte breakthrough solves some of the biggest challenges of lithium-ion batteries today. Rapid charge, superior low-temperature performance and great cycle life with lithium-metal and other high energy density chemistries, Eternalyte provides outstanding performance for applications ranging from EVs to consumer products. It paves the way for next-gen batteries, including lithium metal, with 1,600km driving range and years of reliable performance.”
Initially developed for lithium-metal batteries, Eternalyte also suits silicon and graphite-based batteries where high power and low-temperature resilience are essential. It can be integrated into current manufacturing lines and, when paired with 24M’s Impervio separator, offers a safer and longer-lasting battery solution.
