Dr Boris Monahov has announced his retirement from the Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC).
Monahov is stepping down after nine years of managing the Consortium’s technical programme and supporting the wider global lead battery industry “through his expert knowledge of lead battery science and technology”, ALABC said.
An expert panel will be created to “ensure the continuation of scientific and technical support for the Consortium’s ambitious new programme in 2019”, ALABC said.
Monahov will continue to support ALABC’s activities as a consultant to the panel— in addition to managing the completion of current programme projects.
International Lead Association managing director Andy Bush said: “Although the plan will see Boris continuing to provide substantial support to ALABC’s future work, I would like to thank him on behalf of the ALABC membership, and the wider lead and lead battery industries, for his tremendous contribution to advancing the development of lead battery science during his time with ALABC, and indeed his lifetime’s work with the industry over the past 38 years.”
The upcoming autumn edition of Batteries & Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Magazine, out later this month, will look back at Monahov’s career and achievements to date. Make sure you have subscribed!
