Amadeus Group, the Cummins Power Generation distributor in Albania, is supplying standby power for telecommunication transmission towers in Pristine, Kosovo. The towers are part of a network owned and operated by IPKO Telecommunications LLC, widely recognised as one of the fastest-growing telecom companies in Europe.
Four open C33 D5 diesel-powered generator sets have been installed inside shelters alongside the towers, and integrated into IPKO’s control system to allow remote management. The order followed on from the successful installation of five C27 D5S single-phase, low-noise generators at other IPKO sites. IPKO awarded the latest contract because AMADEUS had demonstrated its support capabilities, and had shown flexibility in adapting Cummins equipment to IPKO’s requirements.
Established in 1999, IPKO has grown from being Kosovo’s first countrywide internet provider to offering a full range of content and integrated services for fixed and mobile telephone communications and digital cable television, amongst other media.
