Brill Power, in collaboration with Lithium Valley, has launched the HELIOS battery module at SNEC, China’s largest battery and energy storage exhibition. Designed for industrial and utility-scale battery systems, HELIOS enhances performance and increases battery utilisation by up to 61%.
At its core is BrillCore, Brill Power’s patented battery management technology, which actively loads battery modules to overcome limitations caused by weaker cells. This approach maximises energy use while continuously balancing packs during charge and discharge, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
HELIOS also boosts system availability by isolating failed modules, allowing the BESS rack to remain operational. Integrated power conversion at the rack level helps maintain DC voltage, while independent charge/discharge cycles eliminate the need for full system resets every four to six weeks.
Brill Power’s BrillOS firmware has been refined for HELIOS, enabling over-the-air updates and optimising state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) algorithms throughout the system’s lifespan. This improves trading decisions for asset owners and enhances confidence in SoX reporting for BESS OEMs.
The HELIOS module integrates Brill Power’s technology with high-grade 314Ah LFP cells, reducing the levelised-cost-of-storage for BESS by up to 26%.
