EnerDel has landed its largest single North American contract to date to supply advanced lithium-ion battery packs to a transport company.
The $19 million, multi-year deal comes after the company’s low-profile Vigor+ pack received full approval for use in diesel-hybrid buses.
The deal with Washington Metro Area Transport Authority will see the transport company fit its diesel-hybrid fleet with EnerDel’s modules.
Johnson & Towers, EnerDel’s authorised distributor, will perform the installation and integration services for the mid-life hybrid fleet retrofit.
The deal follows a successful evaluation period where EnerDel’s advanced lithium-ion energy storage system operated on Metro vehicles.
