Primus Power has teamed up with a Taiwanese manufacturer to help the march of its flow batteries into China’s energy storage market.
The California-headquartered firm has announced a Manufacturing Services Agreement with Foxsemicon Integrated Technology Inc., to assemble and test its newly-launched zinc bromide flow battery, named EnergyPod 2 (pictured), which comes with a 20-year warranty.
Primus said the partnership aims to accelerate customer shipments in China and neighbouring countries by reducing manufacturing lead times.
Primus’ vice-president of operations, Mark Collins, said Foxsemicon was expected to help drive down battery manufacturing costs. “We are impressed with Foxsemicon’s world-class supply chain management, global manufacturing capability, attention to detail, and strong intellectual property protection.”
Jackson Hwang, vice-president for business development at Foxsemicon, said: “The energy storage market is exploding, especially in China.”
