US-based Demansys Energy has bought a controlling interest of Singapore-based demand response pioneers CPvT Energy Asia.
CPvT brought demand response to Asia with its turnkey programmes that interact with the local utility. Demansys is looking to develop its demand response business in Asia and has acquired CPvT to enter the local demand-side management market.
The combined companies will offer power-intensive companies the equipment to get into frequency regulation and reserve markets using smart grid technology to manage energy assets in real time.
The company will now be called CPvT Demansys Energy Pte Ltd and will be led by CEO Vijay Sirse, who is also chairman and CEO of vTrium Energy and CPvT’s founder.
