Eaton has launched the Ellipse PRO range of compact UPS aimed at SMEs in the EMEA region.
Developed specifically for the protection of workstations and small servers running demanding applications, the Ellipse range features EcoControl power outlets, which enable energy savings up to 20%. The unit also incorporates a large LCD that provides users with reassurance that they are working securely and Advanced Surge Reduction (ASR) that complies with the IEC 616431-1 standard.
Ellipse PRO UPSs are available in four versions: 650 VA, 850 VA, 1,200 VA and 1,600 VA. They use line-interactive topology, with booster and fader Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which ensure that they offer a steady output voltage even if the input voltage varies over the wide range of 150 V to 285 V.
All versions incorporate energy saving EcoControl functionality. This feature, which can be activated or deactivated by the user, automatically disables peripherals such as printers and external hard drives when power to the master device – usually the computer – is turned off.
Eaton estimates that this will yield energy savings of up to 15% on the 650 VA and 850 VA units, and up to 20% on the 1,200 VA and 1,600 VA units.
The units are offered, as standard, with a three-year warranty. In addition, for customers in the EU and Norway, Eaton is offering unlimited insurance for connected computer equipment if damaged by power supply problems.
