Enersys, the US-based energy storage company, has renewed its sponsorship of the all-disabled motorsports team Team BRIT for a fourth consecutive year.
The teams race cars, which include two McLaren 570S GT4s and a BMW M240, will be equipped with the Odyssey line of batteries, it said.
It said the company logo will also be printed on the vehicles.
The batteries are absorbed glass mat (AGM) with thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology, it said.
Enersys claim that the batteries have strong resistance to high impact shock and mechanical vibration, which motorsport involves.
Dave McMullen, senior director of global marketing, transportation & specialty, EnerSys, said: “We’re looking forward to another exciting season ahead with Team BRIT. Over the years, it’s been fantastic to see Team BRIT take podium after podium and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of the journey as they continue to champion inclusion in the world of motorsport and beyond.”
Al Locke, engineering director, Team BRIT, said: “It’s phenomenal to have the continued support of Enersys and the odyssey battery brand. Endurance racing demands a battery that is reliable and tough. We’ve been using odyssey batteries for many years and they never let us down, they deliver extreme power, they’re lightweight and they’re sturdy enough to cope with any knocks on the racetrack. We need the best kit to help us continue with our goals to drive real change, so we’re thrilled to have odyssey batteries on board as we continue to break down barriers in motorsport.”
