Lead acid battery maker EnerSys said it was recently awarded a long-term, US$71 million contract for production and supply of batteries used by all branches of the U.S. military in combat and tactical vehicles, as well as generators.
EnerSys will be supplying Thin Plate Pure Lead Hawker ARMASAFE Plus batteries for three years with an option for two additional years with the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
“EnerSys has supplied Hawker ARMASAFE Plus batteries to the U.S. military since 2002, and is proud to continue our expanding relationship with the DLA via the award of this competitive, best-value contract,” said David Shaffer, EnerSys president and CEO.
