Envision Energy is making its debut in France’s energy storage market, having secured a contract to deliver a 120MW/240MWh turnkey battery energy storage system (BESS) for Kallista Energy.
Located in Saleux in the Hauts-de-France region, the project marks Envision’s first standalone battery initiative in the country and highlights the company’s expanding presence in Europe.
The Saleux project will incorporate Envision’s full suite of systems – including DC, AC and power conversion components – designed to provide frequency regulation services for France’s national transmission operator, RTE. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2025, with Envision committed to a 14-year long-term service agreement ensuring ongoing regional support well beyond initial commissioning.
Key components of the system include lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells supplied by AESC, a battery technology company headquartered in Japan. The cells will be produced at AESC’s new 10GWh Gigafactory in Douai in the Hauts-de-France region, which entered production in June 2025.
Henry Peng, senior vice president and president of Latin America and European Region, Envision Energy, said, “We are proud to deliver a fully integrated, turnkey energy storage solution tailored to the Saleux project. Backed by our advanced technology, EPC expertise, and a 14-year long-term service agreement, this project demonstrates our deep commitment to supporting grid stability and accelerating the transition to renewables with safe, reliable and scalable energy solutions.”
This project is a major milestone in Envision’s growth across Europe and contributes to the broader energy transition by supporting grid reliability, integrating advanced technology, and establishing long-term regional presence.
