Sino-European electric vehicle (EV) maker Gotion High-Tech has showcased its 0.2GWh pilot line for all-solid-state lithium batteries at its global technology conference.
The Gemstone all-solid-state battery, which has entered pre-production, has completed its pilot line with a 90% yield rate.
The firm, which revealed this at its conference unveiling six new energy products overall, said its 2025 iteration of the battery shows a 60% improvement in sulphide electrolyte ion conductivity.
It is also said to have 1.5 times higher cell capacity, although no specific amount for the capacity has been given.
Safety tests were also conducted including nail penetration, crush test and thermal stability testing. The road test has been initiated.
The lineup also includes the G-Yuan quasi-solid-state battery for EVs, which is claimed to have a range of 1,000 kilometres.
This battery has an energy density of 300Wh/kg and through a proprietary interface technology is said to ensure stable ion transport.
A 12GWh production line id currently under construction and the company claim it has prototype vehicles exceeding 10,000km in road tests.
Other batteries announced were the G-series 116kWh single pack designed for use in trucks and which has a 175Wh/kg energy density.
This battery is said to have a -40–65°C temperature control range, and zero capacity decay in the first 3,000 cycles.
The Grid Q 20MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) with a modular design and both air and liquid cooling was also shown.
The company also showcased a lithium-manganese-ferro-phosphate (LMFP) battery with ultra-fast charging and 240Wh/kg energy density is said to have 93% cold-weather capacity retention at -20°C.
Gotion is reportedly due to start construction of a Gigafactory in Morocco within days according to Reuters.
