Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has appointed Jason Howlett as its new managing director for its UK arm.
The German battery maker headhunted Howlett from a high-tech manufacturer and global supplier of security screening and border control equipment.
Hoppecke, which was founded in 1927, supplies batteries and power systems worldwide, and makes home storage systems, claiming to have installed more than 5,000 of its Sun Powerpack classics in homes in Germany.
Its Powerpack Premium system, a new generation of battery storage system, is currently being prepared for launch.
Howlett’s appointment is part of a major business-restructuring programme by the Zoellner family, which owns Hoppecke.
