Luxembourg-based outfit OCSiAl has launched an online store to sell its TUBALL single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) product.
A few clicks and a credit card is all a researcher needs to get high purity SWCNTs to be delivered within days from OCSiAl’s online store, which has dedicated versions for Europe and North America. Aimed at the research and product development community, the store offers TUBALL in units of 5, 50 and 100 grams. Samples of 1 gram are available for free.
SWCNTs are passive engineered nanostructures that, when used in batteries, increase energy density by increasing the surface area of the battery anode. Using SWCNTs in place of graphite coating on battery anodes has shown significant improvement in the energy density of lithium-ion batteries, while their use in lead-acid batteries can enhance charge acceptance, reserve capacity, and cold-cranking performance.
The online store’s initial offering will be comprised of TUBALL, which contains more than 75% of SWCNTs. In the beginning of 2015 the range of online products will be expanded with TUBALL R&D – a purified material with less than 5% inorganic impurities, which is aimed at the researchers who study the properties of single wall carbon nanotubes.
OCSiAl will also offer industrial modifiers, such as TUBALL BATT, which is claimed to increase lithium-ion battery cyclability and discharge power.
