It hardly seems like we’re weeks away from the fourth anniversary of the Fukishima nuclear disaster following the Tsunami in March 2011, but it is far from erased from the Japanese psyche as visitors to the Smart Energy show in Tokyo (incorporating battery Japan) would have noticed.
Being without electricity has stimulated a market for “Doomsday Preppers” in the form of home, office and larger power back up systems.
Such products include this Magnesium air battery (pictured) from Furukawa— best known to BEST readers for its work on commercialising the Ultrabattery concept.
