Fabless semiconductor company Mediatek has announced a worldwide certification program for its fast charge product.
In partnership with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) the program certifies products made with the Taiwan based company’s Pump Express Plus™ (PE+) technology.
PE+ allows a maximum output current of 12V through a standard USB adapter, and transmission power up to 15w or above to charge batteries powered by MediaTek processors up to 75% capacity in around 30 minutes.
Chip providers, power suppliers, and mobile device makers using PE+ must pass the independent safety science company’s testing program to demonstrate they are compliant with the latest global safety charging requirements.
AC/DC adapter OEM’s can then guarantees end-consumers that charging works quickly and safely.
