Canadian vertically integrated vanadium firm Largo’s subsidiary, Largo Clean Energy, has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ansaldo Green Tech to establish a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) collaboration.
The parties will work together on the commercial deployment of Largo Clean Energy’s (LCE) VCHARGE technology which is includes the VRFB stack, the vanadium electrolyte, and the Balance of System.
The firm’s will target the European, African, and Middle Eastern markets through the formation of a joint venture (JV) between AGT— a subsidiary of Ansaldo Energia— and LCE in Italy.
The MOU sets out the anticipated terms of the JV, which the firms believe could address identified needs in the European energy sector.
