Two German firms are set to combine diesel and lithium-ion technology to deliver battery based hybrid propulsion systems.
The joint development brings together diesel engine manufacturer MTU Friedrichshafen and advanced lithium-ion battery system firm AKASOL.
The partnership aims to bring to market hybrid and e-drive propulsion systems for marine, rail and industrial applications.
AKASOL, a subsidiary of Schulz Group (Tettnang), develops mobile and stationary high-performance battery-systems.
