US batteries material company NEI Corporation is set to make it easier for battery researchers to develop the next generation of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries
The company is expanding its Custom Solid Electrolyte Materials services in a bid to make solid-state electrolyte materials available in a more useable form.
The company, which develops and manufacturers speciality cathode, anode and electrolyte materials, offers solid electrolyte materials with the composition – whether an oxide material or a sulfide material – of the customer’s choice.
Customers can specify the cathode and solid electrolyte compositions of interest and NEI will custom produce powders in anything from small lot quantities to multiple kilograms with the composite morphology.
The New Jersey firm has developed processes to combine cathode particles and solid electrolyte materials.
The composite material can be mixed with an ionically conducting binder and cast as a dense film.
