Diesel genset supplier Power Electrics has been flooded by call outs in recent weeks following unprecedented rainfall and storms across the UK that left a quarter of a million homes without power for Christmas.
Utility suppliers who were unable to quickly restore power needed generators to provide temporary power until mains electricity could be reinstated.
Power Electrics was able to deploy its rapid response units, including a lorry with built-in 500kVA generator and trailer-mounted units, to flooded areas of the south of England, especially coastal areas in the South West that had been hit by storms.
The storms brought an aftermath of flooding so pumps, powered by diesel generators, were used to pump water away from homes to reduce damage to properties and free up the transport networks.
Daniel Slee, operations director at Power Electrics said: “An unprecedented number of call outs over the Christmas and New Year period gave us a chance to demonstrate our expertise and scope of delivery. Extra drivers and engineers were brought in to ensure our customers received the power they required to fulfil their own Service Level Agreements.”
