Australia-based flow battery company Redflow, has announced plans to increase its production in Thailand.
The company said it will purchase additional machinery for its Thai facility to boost production and increase efficiencies in the production process.
In 2017, the firm relocated production of its zinc-bromine batteries from Flex, Mexico to a wholly owned factory in Chonburi, Thailand, in a bid to reduce costs. Redflow has set a target output of 250 units per month.
The company said on 6 September it had successfully produced 78 zinc-bromine flow batteries in Thailand during the month of August 2018.
Chairman Brett Johnson (pictured) said: “Redflow’s priority is to maintain an efficient, high-quality manufacturing facility that, with increasing sales revenue, will progressively increase our gross profit margin.”
BEST Battery Briefing reported last March that Redflow had completed production of its first consignment of ZBM2 batteries in Thailand.
