French energy management firm Schneider Electric has announced the launch of a new three-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS), called the Galaxy VM.
The UPS will be integrated with the company’s energy management solutions for data centres and industrial applications, Schneider said. It can be integrated in existing monitoring environments and works with Schneider’s data center infrastructure management application StruxureWare, as well as with building management systems and the Modbus protocol.
When operated in so-called ‘ECOnversion’ mode, which combines input harmonic correction, double conversion online and ECO mode technologies, the UPS offers 99% energy efficiency, Schneider said, saving over $28,000 per year.
The unit features swappable battery modules and fans which can be removed without the usual switch to maintenance bypass, as well as options for top and bottom cable entry and casters for mobility.
Pedro Robredo, VP of secure power at Schneider, said the product represents the company’s best, embodying 45 years of power protection design while incorporating the latest energy efficiency technologies. “Facility and IT managers can count on Galaxy VM to work with existing systems, while helping drive business results by reducing energy consumption and its related cost,” he said.
