Socomec, European UPS system manufacturer, has introduced a new range of UPS for the railways sector, the IP+ Rail range. The company say it represents the latest in UPS technology for the mass transport sector to ensure safe and reliable operation of rail networks and infrastructure.
The IP+ Rail is engineered for energy efficiency and high performance in the arduous operating conditions of railways.
So far, it is the only UPS range registered for use on the London Underground to hold “authorised for use” status, meaning it complies with London Underground standards and specifications.
The IP+ Rail has a compact yet robust steel frame that is double the thickness of regular UPS cabinets and the circuit boards are anti-corrosion to withstand damp or dusty conditions. Power options range from 10 – 80 kVA for three-phase models and 10 – 60 kVA for single-phase models. The units are designed to have a mean time between failures (MTBF) of greater than 202,000 hours and modules can be paralleled up to six units.
