German lithium energy storage systems company Sonnenbatterie is set to open a research and development facility in the U.S.
The 5,000 sq. ft. space in Atlanta, Georgia, will house up to 15 engineers tasked with expanding the company’s next generation of smart energy storage devices for homes and businesses.
The new Atlanta facility will be the center for product development, prototyping, and testing for the US market. Sonnenbatterie took over the space from inverter developer SolarMax.
Sonnebatterie’s corporate and manufacturing headquarters is in Bavaria, Germany, but it also has offices in Los Angeles, California.
The company is a market leader in Germany and has channel partners in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg and Slovakia.
The company began operations in the U.S. in 2014. Last month Sonnenbatterie signed a deal to allow Sungevity to supplying its storage systems. Read the full story here.
