Nantong Jianghai Capacitor Co. has signed an intellectual property transfer agreement with Japanese firm Advanced Capacitor Technologies (ACT).
The agreement means Chinese firm Jianghai will own the intellectual property, production technology, and all technical data from the company. Jianghai paid RMB 1.5 million in the deal.
It includes 53 patents related to lithium-ion super capacitor technology and module technology, which Jianghai will use to develop and produce super capacitors.
It is unclear what this means for the future of ACT.
