Moixa working on EV charging blueprint for UK

Residential battery storage firm Moixa is working on a major project to expand electric vehicle smart charging and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology in the UK.

Moixa, which won UK government funding in 2017 to expand its ‘GridShare’ batteries aggregator technology, is preparing a “scale proposition” for the project, BEST Battery Briefing has learned.

Moixa co-founder and chief technology officer Chris Wright told BBB the company was not yet able to divulge details. “I am limited to what I can say, but we have a big project in the UK that will demonstrate control of EV smart charging and also V2G technology.”

Moixa investment boost to export battery tech to Japan

UK-based residential energy storage firm Moixa is to export British battery technology to Japan under a partnership agreement with the country’s Itochu trading house.

The deal, which includes a GBP5 million ($7.1m) investment in Moixa by Itochu, a Fortune 500 company, will enable Moixa to launch its GridShare platform in Japan— technology that manages and optimises home energy storage systems.

Moixa wins new battery project funding

UK-based residential energy storage firm Moixa has been awarded GBP267,750 ($350,771) in government ‘entrepreneurial funding’ to expand its ‘GridShare’ cloud-based virtual power plant.

Moixa said the funds from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s Energy Entrepreneur Fund would be used to develop GridShare, “which aggregates batteries to reduce costs and enable more renewable generation”.
