Zincfive, the US-based nickel-zinc battery maker, have announced the establishment of a new warehouse and service depot in Europe.
The facility will be operated in collaboration with Germany-based Akkuteam Engergietechnik to support the delivery of Zincfive’s batteries and spare parts across the EMEA region.
The firm, which is headquartered in Oregon, claim that the certified customs warehouse will streamline exports to non-EU countries such as in the Middle East.
It said it is responding to the increased demand internationally for its nickel-zinc chemistry.
The patented nickel-zinc chemistry it offers is competing with lead-acid and lithium-ion chemistries. The firm believes it is proven as a high-performance and safer alternative with a decade of use in the field.
The company said it is uniquely positioned for global growth with increased power demands across sectors but especially in data centres. This includes the new AI segment.
Akkuteam, which is a family-owned business, claim 25 years of experience in backup power solutions with expertise in battery storage and handling.
Tim Hysell, CEO, Zincfive, said: “This is more than a logistical move – it’s a signal of our long-term commitment to the EMEA market. Our values of innovation, sustainability, and reliability are mirrored in this new partnership. With a facility designed for efficient, environmentally responsible battery logistics, we’re not just expanding our footprint – we’re doing it the right way. We’re investing where demand is real and growing – this isn’t speculative; it’s a response to the strong pull we’re seeing from European and Middle Eastern markets.”
