Aqua Metals granted lead battery recycling patents in India and Indonesia

Lead-acid battery recycling firm Aqua Metals has been granted patents in both India and Indonesia in a move that could pave the way for the rollout of its technology into those countries.

The patents are ‘critical’ to allowing the US firm to license its technologies, which include the AquaRefinery system.

Aquametals wins San Francisco tech award

It may have missed out on a prize at Battery Council International’s meeting last week, but the tech leaders of San Francisco can spot talent when they see it. Because Aquametals, the company led by Stephen Clarke which offers an aqueous means of recovering lead from spent lead-acid batteries, was named the winner of the San Francisco Business Times Technology and Innovation Award.

Aquametals was described as one of the most dynamic and innovative companies in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times, with its process of environmentally friendly lead-acid battery recycling technology singled out for praise.

Clarke buys Ebonex for a song — but why?

Steve Clarke, founder of Aquametals, didn’t buy his father’s old company, Ebonex, out of sentimentality last week.

Aquametals, the recent start up in non-conventional lead-acid battery recycling, acquired UK-based Ebonex IPR Limited for 123,776 shares of Aquametals common stock and $100,000 in cash — or a “song”*, Clarke told BBB.
