Lithium-ion battery systems firm American Battery Solutions (ABS) has re-launched its manufacturing facility in Ohio, US with additional production capacity.
The firm’s upgraded 170,000 square-foot manufacturing facility was re-launched to meet growing demand from the light electric vehicle, industrial and recreational application markets.
The Springboro facility, purchased from Robert Bosch Battery Systems in 2019, includes additional investment in equipment and facility improvements.
Subhash Dhar, founder, president and CEO of ABS, said he saw the new look Springboro facility as a critical strategic link in the firm’s ability to meet underserved markets such as light electric vehicles, autonomous robotics and telecom.
Last November, ABS tripled the size of its Innovation Center in Michigan, US, expanding the size of its facility to 120,000 sq. feet and added 75 engineering, test and research jobs to support both internal product development and custom battery pack contracts.
