Battery maker CATL and bus maker Yutong have reportedly launched a battery with a lifespan of up to 15 years and 1.5 million km, and zero degradation in the first 1,000 cycles.
News website cnevpost reported that the Chinese battery will cater for market segments including buses, light and heavy trucks. It will be used in products from Yutong Bus and Yutong Heavy Industries.
CATL and Yutong signed a 10-year strategic cooperation framework agreement in 2022 for development and application of new materials and technologies. They will also jointly develop technical standards for commercial vehicle batteries.
Yutong buses containing CATL batteries are sold in more than 40 countries and regions, including Qatar, France, the UK and Spain.
