Battery giant CATL has officially launched its EVOGO lithium-ion battery swap service in Xiamen southeast China’s Fujian Province.
The first four fast battery swap stations enable EV owners to rent a Choco-SEB battery block for RMB 399 ($60) per month, which will be adjusted according to different level of power consumption by users.
The number of fast battery swap stations in Xiamen is expected to increase to 30 by the end of this year, when drivers at any place on Xiamen Island will be able to find a station within a three kilometer radius.
The systems are being delivered through Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL.
In the future, CATL will partner with more organisations to release more EVOGO vehicle models and deliver EVOGO services in more cities.
