US-based renewable energy supplier Enfinity Global has reported the addition of two battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Texas, US, with a capacity of 425MW/850MWh. The projects, near Houston and Dallas, are set to begin construction in the second and fourth quarter of 2025 respectively.
They will bring Enfinity’s projects pipeline to 6.6GW. Operations in the US include 400MW of energy projects, 19GW of solar photovoltaics and energy storage under development, with another 37GW in negotiation. The company expects to have over 1GW of solar and storage assets operational and under construction in the country this year.
The Texas grid operator ERCOT (Electricity Reliability Council of Texas) is experiencing an acceleration in load demand, increasing the need for renewable energy with storage. It hopes these systems will stabilise the grid and support the growth of renewables, especially for AI-driven data centres. Enfinity expects to invest over $7 billion and create over 5,000 construction jobs in this industry in the next few years.
Ricardo Diaz, CEO of Enfinity Global Americas, said: “Enfinity’s proven capabilities with in-house greenfield development has allowed us to expand into executing stand-alone BESS projects.”
The firm has solar and storage projects across the US, Italy and Japan.
