Energy storage company Fluence Energy agreed a deal with renewable energy infrastructure fund Excelsior Capital to deploy 2.2GWh of energy storage projects using domestically manufactured battery systems.
Excelsior will deploy Fluence’s Gridstack Pro product line from 2025. Battery cells for the projects will primarily be manufactured in Tennessee and battery modules will be manufactured by Fluence in Utah. The batteres are designed to meet and exceed industry standards in safety certification and fire testing, said Fluence. This includes UL9540, UL9540A and NFPA-855.
The company said Gridstack Pro, announced in October, is one of the first energy storage solutions expected to qualify for tax credits as domestic content under the US Inflation Reduction Act.
