Schuler North America appointed Pierre-Jean Arvers as the new CEO of Bitrode, its battery testing subsidiary. It acquired Bitrode in 2022 along with its parent, Sovema Group.
Schuler, which makes metalforming technology including prismatic and cylindrical battery cell housings, said Arvers has 20+ years’ international experience, from chemistry and chemical engineering to senior positions in the battery industry. They include , and in the US.
It plans to draw on Arvers’ experience in the EV, energy storage and battery testing industries to boost Bitrode’s fortunes.
Kevin McAllister, president of Schuler North America, said the goal is to integrate Bitrode within the Schuler and Sovema teams and strengthen its hand as an equipment supplier for lithium-ion battery testing and manufacturing. This will be to European or North American gigafactories.
