Battery separator company Microporous said its minority shareholder Trent Capital Partners, a private equity firm, purchased full control. It has been a shareholder for 10 years.
Microporous has manufactured lead-acid battery separators for 80 years. It has facilities in Austria and the US state of Tennessee.
The company was recently selected for a $100 million dollar grant from the Department of Energy to establish a US-based lithium-ion battery separator manufacturing plant to serve the North American EV market.
John Reeves, CEO of Microporous, said his company aims to grow in both lead-acid and lithium-ion markets.
