Sungrow, a Chinese photovoltaic inverter system solution supplier, has unveiled a 1500V energy storage system designed for utility-scale applications.
The company said the “all-in-one” ESS integrates energy storage inverters, lithium-ion batteries, and medium voltage transformers, said to create high efficiency and allow for system expansion. The new product was unveiled during Energy Storage Europe in Germany.
Sungrow was founded in 1997 and now claims to be “China’s largest string inverter manufacturer, with 79GW installed worldwide” as of December 2018.
Last year, Sungrow was awarded a contract to supply a turnkey 30MWh battery energy storage system comprising “advanced NCM lithium batteries” for a project in Hokkaido from its joint venture company with Samsung SDI JV.
