Tesla has reportedly stopped production at its Shanghai lithium-ion gigafactory due to a surge in COVID-19 cases across the city.
The plant reportedly closed on Monday for four days as local authorities intensify restrictions on normal operations in response to a spike in COVID-19 cases that may be centered in the city.
The plant suspended production for two days on 16-17, due to the worsening local outbreak; production resumed on 18 March 18, with a two-shift system, reported China tech media Pan Daily.
The China Passenger Car Association reported that Tesla delivered 56,515 cars from the factory in February— 23,200 for the domestic market and 33,315 for export.
