Lithium-ion battery manufacturer Voltabox has opened a new plant in Texas, US.
The US subsidiary of paragon AG is now operating the first fully automated assembly line for battery packs based around its iron-phosphate (cylindrical) and nickel-manganese-cobalt-oxide (prismatic) technologies.
One completely automated assembly line is up and running with new lines due to be added later at the plant in Leander near Austin. The building will also be used as the US offices of the firm’s German partners.
The 23,000 square foot administration and production facility will mass-produce Voltabox batteries.
Earlier this year Paragon’s subsidiary Voltabox Deutschland GmbH agreed a strategic partnership with Triathlon Batterien GmbH.
This exclusive agreement involved supplying lithium-ion batteries for use in intralogistic solutions such as electric forklift trucks, and driverless transport systems.
