Volvo Penta is to supply an optimized BESS subsystem to Swedish power generation company Aiab Energy.
The energy-dense battery systems to be supplied with optimised C-rates are tailored for industrial use and enable rapid charging and discharging. The batteries are 90KWh (BOL) and have a 51KW recharge rate at 50% SoC.
They originate from the Volvo Group’s electrification platform, and are used in heavy-duty applications such as trucks and buses.
Aiab Energy mainly serves Swedish government entities, including hospitals and municipalities, as well as defence organisations and critical infrastructure.
Sweden’s Volvo Penta already supplies Aiab with high-performance D8, D13 and D16 power generation engines.
