Vision Group announce lithium-ion gigafactory plans to meet NEV and telecoms demand

Chinese battery maker Vision Group, which makes lead-acid batteries through its subsidiary Shenzhen Center Power Tech, has announced plans to build a 30GWh lithium-ion battery plant in China's Hubei province.

The company says the plant will meet demand from the 5G telecom networks and new energy vehicle (NEV) power battery sectors, according to media organisation Argus Media.

China lead firm eyes switch to ‘low-cost’ Vietnam

Chinese battery maker Shenzhen Center Power Tech is proposing to transfer part of its lead-acid operations outside China to reduce costs.

The company— also known as Vision— has set its sights on transferring lead battery production from its facility in the Shenzhen Dapeng New District to subsidiaries in Vietnam and central China’s Hubei Province.
