Lead battery technology development company Advanced Battery Concepts (ABC) has appointed Randy Moore to its Technical Advisory Board.
Moore is leading the effort to develop revolutionary, high performance batteries that are safe and environmentally responsible in his role as CEO at AESir Technologies.
He brings more than 30 years of diverse experience in such fields as aerospace, defense, medical and the energy industry
Randy Moore joins the technical advisory board’s other members, which encompass broad expertise in lead batteries, flow batteries, vehicle electrification, and grid energy.
He will work with other board members to shape and drive the company’ technology plans where his background in chemistries other than lead, as well as a multitude of industries, will be a great asset to the current membership.
Randy joins our other Technology Advisory Board: Robert Galyen TAB chairman, Lori Hutton (retired GM), Scott Wilder (Jabil), James Symanski (retired JCI/Clarios) and Phil Mott (retired Borg-Warner).
AN ABC spokesman told BEST: “The board identifies applications and technologies that advance ABC’s mission of more sustainable energy storage. For example, our technology is focused on licensing traditional lead battery manufacturers, but GreenSeal® technology could work as easily with chemistries such as lead-carbon, nickel-zinc, zinc-manganese and many other battery chemistries. Our TAB helps us determine if we should and if so how best to do it.”
Bob Galyen, chairman of ABC’s Technology Advisory board said: “I am pleased to add Randy to our advisory board. His desire to achieve excellence in performance technology driven industries will be a great asset to ABC.”
Dr. Edward Shaffer, CEO and founder of ABC said: “Our technology is a revolutionary advancement for lead batteries. Even better, the technology has further potential in the storage industry using other chemistries. Randy’s broad experience in other battery chemistries, particularly Nickel-Zinc, can help push ABC’s technology into the next generation.”
ABC has designed a bipolar lead-acid battery and implemented a commercially viable manufacturing process for the technology.
Advanced Battery Concepts is working with existing lead acid battery producers and engaging licensees to realise the commercial potential of its technology, as well as on-going production of batteries and additional research from its Battery Research & Engineering Development Center in Michigan to broaden its technology portfolio.
