Lithium exploration firm American Lithium Corp has appointed lithium battery expert Dr David H Swan to the company’s advisory board.
Swan holds seven patents in his field and has written more than 40 published papers on fluid mechanics, applied electrochemistry and electric vehicle technology.
Among his jobs, Swan has specialised in the design and application of lithium battery technology for automotive and aerospace applications, researched and developed advanced energy storage systems and has consulted for many of the world’s top OEMs.
All of which leads the casual observer to wonder if American Lithium plans to enter the battery storage market itself.
Michael Kobler, CEO of American Lithium, said: “It is an exciting time in the company’s development, with lithium batteries having the potential to transform both the transportation and stationary energy storage industries.”
Swan is currently responsible for technology and patent assessment to several top tier firms working on autonomous electric vehicle and associated lithium battery technologies, said Kobler.
