Battery testing and formation firm Digatron will combine its lithium-ion battery diagnosis technology with fellow German-headquartered Safion following the creation of a strategic partnership.
Both Aachen, Germany-based companies will share knowledge regarding battery diagnosis technology, combining two subsequent steps— hardware integration and functional integration.
The firms will work on R&D ventures, and the ramping up of Safion’s global sales activities by selling product via Digatron Sales.
Digatron told BEST the R&D would include utilising synergies in software and battery technology competence to combine separate unique selling points to a new common one, and building up a “new core knowledge to underline market leadership”.
Safion provides solutions for battery quality assessment and diagnosis using measurement technology that is applicable along the whole battery value chain and evaluates lithium-ion batteries within a few seconds.
Dr. Alexander Gitis, CEO and founder of Safion, said his firm’s technology had many touchpoints with Digatron’s equipment.
He said: “We highly profit from our new partner’s international network and do not compete with their existing range of products.”
